A Manifesto of Tiny Commitments

Back in October in the 'gap' between lockdowns my youngest son was approaching 5 weeks old. It was also coming up to one of my favourite weekends of recent years, Fun Palaces! (www.funpalaces.co.uk) Their tagline of "Everyone an artist, Everyone a scientist" immediately grabbed me when I first discovered them back in 2015 and their simple model of bringing communities together so that individuals can share their interests and passions appealed to my "just get it done" nature.

This year like lots of cultural organisations, BIG physical meet-ups were not possible so instead they focussed on tiny connections; socially distanced small fun palaces and online workshops. As a cornerstone of this year's festival, poet Degna Stone was commissioned to create an online activity anyone was free to try; writing a manifesto of tiny commitments. Small manageable promises to yourself that might just change the world.

So with a cup of tea and two small, sleeping boys, I had a go...
